We took a trip to the Strategic Air & Space Museum yesterday to see the planes and the “Machines in Motion” exhibit of da Vinci machines. (Thanks @Chris_Preston for the tip that the exhibit was at the museum!)

The tickets were $15 for adults and $10 for children.

There were many engineers and their kids walking around looking at the displays and it was funny to listen to them try to explain the principles involved while their kids happily hammered away on the displays, which were nearly all interactive.

I enjoyed seeing the designs of a great maker from the past brought to life from mostly just wood and cloth. It reminded me of the makers of automata today, except that da Vinci seemed more preoccupied with war and flight than entertainment!
